The Process

Upgrades offers private tutoring lessons in languages; personalized to fit your needs and wishes. You choose the time and place where you would like to meet your coach.
The education is tailor-made to suit your current level of proficiency and your personal goals.
The following process applies to private tutoring; not babysitting, courses or children’s language camps.

If you wish to proceed – fill in the customer presentation form, which will be used to match a coach with your needs and wishes.

Matching and start-up lesson

Within 1-2 weeks after having received your customer presentation we will present a language coach suited to your requirements and set up a time for the first lesson.

Continuous assessment and evaluation

Follow the education on Upgrades Online. At the end of the education package we will evaluate and take stock of your wishes regarding continuing.

Customer Satisfaction Guarantee

After the first lesson we will follow up to ensure you are satisfied, and you then choose an education package.

Our education packages comprise of 10, 20 or 30 lessons – 90 minutes per lesson (for larger packages please ask for quote). Schedule your lessons with your language coach as you go.

Distance – Study online

Choose one of our standard packages and study online, when it fits your schedule. You and the language coach utilize traditional and digital tools for an effective learning.

Terms and Conditions

Book lessons directly with the language coach, within the package validity period, when it best fits your schedule.
Free cancellation – You can cancel and reschedule up to 24 hours before your lesson.
Customer satisfaction guarantee – If for any reason you are not satisfied after the first session, we will re-match you with another coach free of charge. You can also opt to only pay for the first lesson.
The order is binding only after the first lesson is approved.

Test your level of proficiency – CEFR test

All our education is adapted to suit one or more of the 6 levels in The Central European Framework of Reference for Languages scale. Our online test aims to give you an indication of your current level, and can be used whichever language you would like to learn or improve.

Our Method

Tailor-made tutoring

The Upgrades language coach adjusts the tutoring to suit your current level of proficiency – regardless if you are a beginner or an advanced learner. You decide for what purpose and goals the education should aim to meet, and if it is for professional or informal contexts. The lessons are tailor-made to suit your specific requirements and wishes. The coach will create a study plan for your personal tutoring.

Coach matching / The language coach

The relationship between the coach and the learner is a vital part of the teaching. We always match the coach to your wishes and needs, but you can change coach free of charge at any time.

Theory and practice

We combine theory, in the form of grammar, vocabulary and communication, with exercises connected to authentic situations from the student’s work life, such as presentations, email conversations and partaking in discussions.
The method of learning that best suits your needs will be the basis of your study plan.

Course material

The choice of course material follows the same principle and is based on your requirements. We can base the study plan on your current course material, work material or suggest a purchase of books or online classes. We utilize both online and offline material. Between the lessons we encourage self-study through exercises as well as online and app-based training.

The language coach

Upgrades language coaches come from varied backgrounds in pedagogy and languages. What they all have in common is the ability to create stimulating and structured education.

The CEFR scale

To achieve an individual language tuition adjusted to your level of proficiency, Upgrades language coaches work according to the CEFR scale guidelines. The CEFR scale ranges from beginner A1 to advanced C2. By way of introduction, the language coach will test your current level and then create a study plan together with you, to help reach your personal goals.
