Childcare with a Language Focus

> Combines traditional childcare with language learning.
> Upgrades’ caregivers have exceptional language skills and a genuine interest in childcare and child development.
> All of our caregivers are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid and elementary pedagogy.

Goal

Do you want to mix traditional childcare with language learning? Then you have come to the right place. With Upgrades Childcare, we take care of more than just school/daycare collection, food preparation and childminding. We also mix these traditional childcare tasks with a pedagogical focus on language.

Our families’ goals are often to spark a language interest in their children or prepare children for a move abroad. Childcare with an English Language Focus is our most popular service, but we also have many customers who want babysitting in French, Spanish, German and other languages.

Play and Learn Method

At Upgrades, we never want learning at a young age to be forced. Therefore, we use songs, music, exercises, storytelling, arts and crafts – based on themes and seasons – to play with a new language in order to build skills in a fun way. Many of our caregivers have English, French, and German as their mother-tongue.

Content

Based on the children’s interests and levels we combine childcare with creative and educational exercises within the language of choice. Our pedagogical team creates weekly inspiration material that both you and the caregivers have access to during the term.

The families who have chosen the English language will receive exercises from our “English4Kids” concept. Since 2005, we have created inspiring material that has led English4Kids to become Sweden’s most popular English language courses for children.

How Childcare works

1

Register your interest

The partnership begins when you submit your family presentation through our website or over the phone. Shortly thereafter, we will contact you to go through your goals and requirements with the childcare and then, propose a suitable arrangement.

2

Matching and complimentary meeting

Within about two weeks of submitting your family presentation, we will present you with a suitable caregiver and a time for your first meeting with the caregiver. After you meet with the caregiver, we follow-up to ensure that you both are pleased with the match. Together, we then establish the length of time for the chidcare package.

3

Continuous follow-up and evaluation

During the ongoing childcare sessions, the caregiver continually reports his/her hours and information about each session. When only a few hours are remaining in your childcare package, we contact you to evaluate the childcare and discuss your thoughts about further continuing with the childcare sessions.
